Tips for
Baby's Laundry
It may feel
like every time you turn around you need to change the baby's clothes.
You may discover that baby laundry piles up quickly. There are some
things you can do to help with any stress that this may bring.
*
Wash all of the baby laundry before the baby is born. Even the clothes
that you have for them for when they are a little bit older. That
way you can put everything away and it will be ready when you need
it.
*
Wash any brand new cloth diapers you buy twice in warm water with
infant soap before using them.
*
If you have slightly used cloth diapers wash them with hot water
and infant soap once before using.
*
To keep track of stains write down on a piece of paper (that you
keep near a place where you know you will put the dirty clothes,
such as next to the baby's hamper) a quick note of the garment that
is dirty with a potential stain (light blue onesies w/ bears left
of collar, dark denim overalls left leg etc.). That way you can
remember to stain spray them when you wash them.
*
Have a calendar in the laundry room (or anywhere that you find it
helps you best) stating the days that you are going to wash diapers,
baby laundry, non-baby laundry and linens. This will help you feel
not so overwhelmed.
*
With velcro covers it is a good idea to fasten them before washing
them.
*
Give your baby his or her own hamper so you don't have to separate
clothes each time that you want do laundry.
