Tips
for Baby and Sleeping
As night
time roles around both parents and baby may find them self exhaughted
and ready to hit the hay, that is until it is time for the next
snack.
Sleeping feels like it
will never be the same after you have a baby. You should not worry
though, after the first month you will really notice a difference
and before you know it that little bundle of joy will sleep through
the entire night. Here are some tips to help you get through that
first month of sleeping with a baby.
*
Don't worry if your baby is on a odd schedule. Babies change their
sleeping pattern very often and an odd schedule is likely to pass.
*
Babies have a hard time regulating there body heat so it is a good
idea to keep warm blankets handy a bedtime but also check to make
sure they are not too hot as well.
*
Babies are deep sleepers at first so you shouldn't have to worry
about setting an alarm. Try and stay on a schedule that you would
like to but do feel bad if you get off of it because of your baby
being up all night.
*
Babies hardly ever roll around right after birth but it does happen.
Since you never know when you baby is going to roll over for the
first time it is a good idea when they are sleeping to make sure
if they did roll for the first time that they won't roll off of
something.
*
Babies will usually sleep better if they have a bath at the end
of the day before bedtime, so making bath time a routine event before
bedtime can help you get your baby to sleep well.
*
Have everything you need for a quick diaper change in the middle
of the night near your bed so if the baby wakes up and poops you
can quickly change them with less of a fuss.
*
When you baby is young you don't want to have any stuffed animals
where they sleeping. Save those for when they are bigger and are
not likely to roll into a stuffed animal covering their nose or
mouth.
*
When you dress you baby for nighttime consider the fact that if
they have feet pajamas on they are more likely to stay warm and
won't need as heavy as blanket.
*
If you place a blanket on your baby put it a up to their waist.
Sleeping
Tips for Mommy and Daddy
*
A lot of the time when a baby is in the womb they are awake a lot
at night because mommy is laying down which makes it easier for
them to move around. So when they are born they often stick to this
schedule for a while. That is why it is important for mommy and
daddy to consider napping if baby is napping.
*
Consider sleeping in shifts, that way you both will only be somewhat
tired rather than both of you being super tired.
