Tips
for Grooming Baby
One thing
that is very intimidating when you have a baby is having to groom
them. With the soft spots on their head and those little finger
nails that they have, it is sometimes very scary brushing their
hair or cutting their finger nails. Here are some good tips to help
groom your baby.
*
Brush your baby's hair after a bath to encourage the cradle cap
to come off.
*
Once your baby has fallen asleep after a bath cut their finger nails,
they will stay still for you this way and the nails will be softer
because of the bath.
*
It is easier to clean your baby's ears after you give them a bath.
Use safety swabs as oppose to q-tips.
*
Once you start feeding your baby solid food it is a good idea to
"brush their teeth" with you finger at least.
*
If you decide to use toothpaste when you "brush their teeth"
make sure that it is floride free and safe to swallow.
*
If you like to use a toothbrush for your baby's teeth start out
by using a finger toothbrush.
*
Clean your baby's umbilical cord during every diaper change.
*
There is no reason to try and keep you baby's hair cut while they
are young. They will likely rub some of it off anyway and giving
them a haircut would be unnecessary.
