Tips
for Feeding Baby
It will
be a while before you are feeding your baby solid food. Here are
some tips to help once you start.
*
Dress them in something that you really wouldn't mind if it got
stained.
*
Use a large bib for the first couple of times while your baby is
still figuring out how to swallow.
*
Try feeding them the same food, such as bananas, for a week. That
way if they have a reaction you will know it is from the bananas
and not have guess if it was bananas or apples.
*
Give them water, boiled that you have let cool down, with every
meal.
*
Give them a bath the evening of the day that you feed them.
*
Have a damp dish towel to wipe their hands as you feed them. They
often like to grab the spoon.
*
Consider giving them a plastic or wooden spoon of their own. That
way they will be less likely to want to grab the one that you are
using to feed them.
*
You might think about keeping the dish that is holding the food
out of reach of the baby.
*
Make sure that you pick up any dry solids that you feed them that
they drop on the floor because they will be sure to find them later
and devour them.
*
If you can help it don't feed them over carpet and if you have to
feed them over carpet consider laying something beneath them.
