Gifts for Baby and Parents

Flowers and Plants

One of the most traditional gifts to give a mother who has just giving birth is flowers or a nice plant. It is very common for a local business of a generally small town to send the new mother of the community this gift. There are some things you can do to make this kind of gift extra special.

Flowers

A fun thing to do is to include the flower that name is baby related.

  • Baby's Breath

By choosing flowers that are either light blue or pink can reflect on the gender of the baby.

Blue Flowers - Blue Hydrangea, Blue Rose, Blue African Lily

Pink Flowers - Pink Hydrangea, Pink Rose, Guernsey Lily

Every month has a flower, one thing to do is to include the flower of the month the baby is born.

January - Carnation
February - Violet
March - Daffodil
April - Daisy

May - Lily-of-the-Valley
June - Rose
July - Water Lily
August - Gladiolus

September - Aster
October - Cosmos
November - Chrysanthemum
December - Narcissus

Plants

Just like flowers new parents often receive plants as a gift. This can be very special if the plant is stable and grows into a healthy plant that the baby can enjoy as a child.

Some popular choices of plants for this occasion are:

Ivy - Ferns - Spider Plants - Aloe Veras - Fichus

If the parents live in a warm climate area the option for small trees are also an option. Something that both the parents and child can enjoy for a very long time.

Something you can do to add a special touch to the plant that you give new parents is to have it in a pot that has a baby theme. If you know that the parents do not have the greenest thumb and you know they would not want a plant to take care of you can always give them an artificial plant.
