It
is one thing to have support yourself with a single
income. It is an entirely different thing when you have
to support yourself while taking care of children. Even
if you have only one child and receive Child Support,
it is an completely different challenge then simply
finding a job. Some places that can help a single mom
find financial help:
Single
mothers often find themselves faced with a complete
lifestyle change in order to support their family.
This often means that prior stay at home moms
are faced with not only finding a job that can
support their family but also are faced with having
to find a way to juggle work, home and kids. This
often occurs after something quite emotional,
such as a divorce or death of a spouse, for the
whole family. Some mothers are faced with having
to find financial needs for their families while
also grieving a loss themselves and trying to
sooth their children grieving the loss of their
familiar and loss of a parent. In any economy
this takes a great toll on an individual but with
unemployment so high it can be particularly difficult
for a single mom to even begin to pick up the
pieces. While it will feel as though things will
never get better it is important to remember to
take one day at a time. Make goals and set limits.
Put essential needs above everything else and
look for outside support by family, friends and
state programs for both financial and emotional
help during this difficult time.
