About High Chairs & Hook-On High Chairs
High chairs
are nice because you can set the baby in them and they are at your
level allowing you to eat while you feed them. Once your baby can
sit up on their own, they can comfortably sit in a high chair. High
chairs may not be that mobile if you are eating out or at family's
but they are great for home. One of the advantages of high chairs
is that your child usually grows out of them before they reach the
chair's maximum weight capacity. Once your infant
becomes a toddler, they will likely be sitting in a booster seat.
If you plan to budget a high chair in your list of baby supplies,
remember that they are only a stepping stone for when your child
eats at the table like you.
Hook-On High
Chairs are great if you like to eat out at restaurants or often
have meals at other people's homes. Your child will be at the same
level as every one else at the table. They are likely to fit most
tables and are designed to hold a good amount of weight. You may
even choose them over a high chair for the fact that they will take
up less room and are certainly more mobile. Of course if your child
surpasses the weight that they guarantee to hold, you will need
to think about getting a booster seat earlier then you may have
thought. Neither high chairs nor the hook-on high chairs will be
able to last you the entire time that your child needs to sit in
something other then just a chair.
