There
are some things to keep in mind for bath time with a baby.
Although most babies grow to love bath time and it becomes
a nightly routine that both parents and kids look forward
to, as infant's bath time can seem traumatic. It is not
uncommon for babies to cry immediately after experiencing
a bath and the first few times that the baby is given
a bath he or she is quick to cry during the experience.
This makes it difficult for mom and dad because they feel
bad putting their baby through this. However, good hygiene
at any age is a good idea and so bath time with an infant
is a must. The first few weeks tend to be the most difficult
but soon after that bath time with be as easy as changing
a diaper and a lot more fun.
While
developing the best routine for your baby's bath it is
a good idea to keep safety the top most priority. This
means that you will want to make sure that whatever baby
bath you choose, you know it will keep your baby safe.
Avoid overly light baths that do not sit firmly. Avoid
using baby bath toys before your baby is ready for them,
bath time at such an age can quickly overwhelm your child
in an already frightening situation. However, keep in
mind that if it seems that your child responds to focusing
on a distraction while taking a bath be sure to have a
distraction or fun bath toy handy. Many children at that
age enjoy a musical toy to the side of the tub to focus
on. Always make sure that you have everything you need
to give the baby a bath, and do not leave him or her unattended
for even just a minute.
